Rochester-The Rochester Public Library will be closed for Veterans Day on Thursday, November 11. The main desk librarian Amy has some great book and DVD recommendations this week. On November 6, the children's room launched a new Take it & Make it Craft kit.

To commemorate Veterans Day, we displayed two new books and DVDs titled "Thank you for your service". Stop and look at these options.

RPL librarian Amy has a book recommendation that excites her. She said: "Know Elizabeth, Ron, Joyce and Ibraham, they are residents of a retirement village in the UK. You can find details in "Thursday Murder Club" and "Richard Osman Who Died Twice" Learn about each of them. Both hardcover books are available in the form of e-books and audiobooks in the library and Libby.

"This is a mystery series (yes, there is another one on the way to deal with the movie). The characters are unintentionally interesting and interesting. I have to say that Joyce's diary entry is the best. Even if you are not a big fan" Mystery, I only recommend these books to cute well-developed characters, and their relationship is close and complicated. I can imagine myself sitting in a community room having a drink with them and planning the next move. "

Amy also has some DVD recommendations this week. "RPL now has the first season of "Bio-Alien" starring Alan Tudyk. The show was originally broadcast on the Syfy network. It is about an alien crashing onto the earth and appearing as a small town doctor. It It's dark and fun. If you find that you like this story, you can read the graphic novel on which the show is based on hoopla, a free digital app for RPL cardholders.

You can also view the first and second seasons of "Witch Discovery" on DVD. So far, the show follows Deborah Harkness's "Soul of All Souls" trilogy (also available in the library) by Deborah Harkness. It tells the story of a witch and a vampire searching for the same item in the Oxford Library, where they begin a controversial and evolving relationship. They ended up embarking on dangerous adventures, including time travel. These are just some DVD movies and TV series provided by the library. "

The children's room would like to thank the Rochester Fire Department for providing supplies for our fire protection "Learning to Fire Safety Voice" display.
